Session 9 of the 2019 season: Near Epic Lake Mitchell

13m session with Eric, Jeff and Marc. They were on 14m kites

I never heard the scrapping ice song. Powder on top with a nice base below.

Got a good grip on down looping with transitions. 

Because of the sun, surface conditions and fellow kiters this was a near epic session. 

NNW breeze 10-20 mph, some sun and a warm 25 degrees

Gear: 13M Z Kite with TT board   

TOB:  1:00-4:00  

Winds: NNW 10-25 mph  

Weather: Mostly sunny, 25 degrees  

Surface:  Powder with a soft base, never scrapped ice

28-30 sunny degrees, SW breezes 10-20 mph.
2-3 inches of powdery snow on top of glassy ice. 

Not the best of conditions, easily scrapping down to ice when carving.

Session 2 of the 2018 season: Nearly perfect snowkite session on Lake Mitchell

Carving endless turns on the downwind runs

TOB:  2:00-4:00

Gear: 9M Z kite with TT snowboard 

Surface conditions: A nice hard packed base of an inch or two, nicely formed 6-10 inch powdery windblown snow drifts and of course some wind scoured bare ice spots.  

Wind:  15-35 mph from the SW 

Weather: 16 degrees and bluebird, wind and blowing snow at times made conditions brutal

Highlights: Nearly epic day of snowkiting, enough snow cover and wind to make endless carving turns. SW winds gusting to 35mph made it challenging. But the downwind drifting the kite and carving the turns was epic.
