Weather: Hot, sunny mid-80s

20 plus kiters enjoying the hot breezes.

Session 50 of the 2018 season: Platte River Pointe 9M Naish swallowed by the trees - all was not lost

Gear:  7M Naish Pivot
TOB:  3:30-4:30
Winds: NNW to 30mph
Weather: Overcast and 60s
Surface:  Some head high breaking waves
Highlights: Bad day, lost my 9M Naish to the tree gods. All was not lost as the 7M Naish worked.
I got  a short session in after a quick grieving of my lost.
It was fun to play in some of Lake Michigan's finest breaking waves. Although a short session and not quite enough wind
Thank you Chris F for the pictures.
I would say head high waves

Session 49 of the 2018 season: Tawas surprise!

Gear:  13M Z kite with surf board and TT
TOB:  5:00-8:00
Winds: Southern 12-20 mph
Weather: Clear, hot, 80ish degrees
Surface:  Small breaking waves and "The Slick"
Highlights: The wind forecast for Tawas wasn't spectacular.
As I was driving toward Empire, of course I had to monitor the wind speed at Tawas Point and sure enough 15-20 mph is what it was. Good enough for me and my 13M Z kite.
Ran into Jerry at the beach and enjoyed the next 3 hours of steady as Tawas can get with southern, warm winds. Watching Jerry do rolls, unhooked 360s, dark side slides and other unrecognizable stuff.
First 1.5 hour session I took out the surf board and beelined it to the point. 2nd session got on the TT board and headed back to the point.
An excellent evening kiting with the superstar Jerry, watching and learning his style.
Had a beer and pizza with Jerry and finally got to Empire by 1:30 am....a long enjoyable day.

Session 48 of the 2018 season: A feel good session - hot and sunny but winds were marginal

Gear:  13M Z kite with TT board
TOB:  4:00-5:15
Winds:  SW and WSW to 20 mph. WSW is an undesirable direction
Weather:  Hot and sunny
Surface: small chop
Highlights: Marginal 13M session. Not much to mention about this session. Except it did feel good, a very hot and sunny day. Cooling off on the water was better then working.
Started at the regular launch and landed at the beach.

Session 47 of the 2018 season: Metrobeach, late and Nothing fancy, just 92 degrees with some wind

Gear: 13M Z kite and TT
TOB: Evening ride 7:00-8:00
Winds: SW more then usually
Weather: Mid 80s and sunny
Surface: small chop
Highlights: A late start with nothing fancy, just 92 degrees with some wind.
13M kite and TT board. I wasn’t able to gain confidence in the wind so I stuck close to launch site. Just as everyone else did.
Others got the best of it earlier in the day.

Session 46 of the 2018 season: Metrobeach with travels to a newly reveal slick

Gear:  13M Z kite and TT board
TOB:   2:30-4:30
Winds: SSE 15-20
Weather:  Sunny and warm
Surface conditions: small south chop
Highlights: A surprise session with winds that were not expected.
Rigged my 13M kite and by 2:30 there was plenty of wind. Went out on my TT board and headed to a newly recognized slick on the leeside of Beacon Cove marina.
Enjoying the smooth water with plenty of easy boosting and hard carving turns.
Fun day with 20 plus kites at play.
